So I am going to begin today by making a little schedule for the week. So anyone reading will know what to expect on a weekly basis and so I have some sort of plan/guide going forward of what I'm going to share each day.
MONDAYS: Healthy Family & Healthy Self
I am just at the beginning at my second weight watchers journey. I did weight watchers a few years back after my second child and it worked wonderfully. Over the past two years with stress and being over worked I've managed to put a bit of that weight back on and I'd like to get rid of it again. So today I put my current weight into the online weight calculator and next week I will update you on how the first week went.
I will also be journaling about the journey my family is about to take with IBS. Two members of our family are dealing with gastrointestinal issues and this summer I will be experimenting with alternative diets for them.
TUESDAYS: Happy Home Day
Ever since I became a mom I have been trying different systems for organizing our home and staying on top of all the cleaning. I will be working on putting together a home maintenance system that works for my family. I've started and stopped this project a bunch of times because I was always trying to make another persons system work in my home. I've accepted that I need to personalize much more and that is something I want to work on this summer so when I return to teaching in the Fall we it is in place and working.
WEDNESDAYS: Cooking Up A Storm
While I am a Pastry Chef I do still love to cook. I'm not nearly as good at it but it needs to be done so I'm glad I can get some enjoyment from it. I'd love to share recipes, cooking tips but even more so my journey through meal planning. Up until now I've always been a mom that suddenly goes "um what should we have for dinner tonight?" around 4:30 or 4:45. In my attempt to organize all areas of our home meal planning will be a big one. I'm also hoping that this will help us with saving on our monthly grocery budget.
THURSDAYS:Play & Learn
Since I am mostly a stay at home mom I find that I need to come up with lots of ways to keep my kids occupied. I have some big ideas/plans for activities to do with my two boys this summer so I will start with what we are planning for that. Once we get back to school in the Fall I'll continue to share what fun things I'm doing with the kids.
FRIDAYS: Project Day
I always have a giant list of projects that are on the go. I hope to share these with you as they travel from my mind into reality. These will include all sorts of things from crafts to holiday decor, home improvement projects, garden/outdoor projects...almost anything!
SATURDAY: Baking Day
This summer I need to fine tune my lesson plans and look for new exciting ways to keep my baking students engaged so I will be sharing some of my baking how-tos, trials and tips. I'm also going to share a lot about my love of cake decorating and sugar art. I am starting a new guild for local cake decorators and while I'm not still decorating cakes for money I will still be working on advancing my skills.
SUNDAY: Round-up Day
I have become a huge fan of google reader. Another thing I must thank Sister Diane of CraftyPod for turning me on to. I look at a crazy number of blogs on a weekly basis. Every Sunday I'll share some of my favorite posts from the week.
So this is what I am hoping to do with my blog. Probably too ambitious but I'm going to give it my all and we'll see where I end up.
See you tomorrow!
Rachel
